We have been exploring the coupling between relativistic CR fluids and plasmas in our latest work led by Princeton graduate student, Matt Sampson. Submitted on the arXiv now!
The key spectral results from the 10k simulation is published in Nature Astronomy!
There is an unruly amount of u and b alignment in the 10k simulations, which I think is strongly related to the dynamo saturation. We have submitted direct tests the dynamical alignment theory to PRL, showing that alignment is even more wide-spread than dynamical alignment would predict.
Neco has done some fantastic work on the supersonic turbulent dynamo, showing for the first time the signficant changes to the Kasantsev spectrum!
So long Kolmogorov is on the arXiv, where we directly test the ideas of Kolmogorov on SNe-driven turbulence simulations for large-scale galactic turbulence!
I am travelling to Lyon and Chateau de Goutelas for a week long retreate with the French ISM astrophysicists.
CNN reached for commentary on a newly released Starry Night paper. I'm officially the Starry Night expert, at this point, haha.
I just gave a talk on the low Re, high Pm ICM dynamo, including how it might saturated. Check it out in my lecture and talk notes!
More love for the 10k MHD simulation in this short piece, plasma - a beautiful chaos.
In an article called "the beauty of chaos" New Scientist has featured a visualization from the 10k MHD simulation in their magazine!
